Breaking it all Down

Piotr and Illyana Rasputin have an interesting dynamic as characters. Both have had unpleasant superhero careers and each have responded to the trauma in their backgrounds in different ways. Illyana has become something of a hardass, while Piotr has thrown himself into protecting his family no matter what – even when that allows family members like Mikhail to manipulate him as happened in the Krakoa era. So, what happens when you get a team up book?

What is redemption? What is forgiveness? What does that mean when you’re a former Supervillain? This is a question that has come up in Marvel multiple times, with the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, with Hawkeye and Black Widow, with Magneto, and with Rogue and Gambit.
