For the past few years – since the pandemic – I’ve done the unthinkable and watched anime with my parents. I talk about how that started, how it’s gone since then, and some of the series we selected and how that went.

Quick Updates on the Surgery Procedure
So – I have more information on the procedure! The short news – I will definitely not be streaming that weekend, and might not be streaming for the week after – or if I do, I’ll have to not be on camera. This actually leads to another thing – the doctor’s estimated recouperation time after the surgery is going to be about 2 weeks minimum, with the thing that makes me not able to be on camera hopefully being done after 1 week.
What this may end up leading to is me doing is, if I do a video during that period, it’s probably going to be SF Debris style – with me strictly doing voiceover and editing – which is more work, but the good news is I’ll have the time to do it.
One other Medical Note – Sleep Apnea
One other quick medical note – that I’m not just posting here because I need to fill space, but because this is a sincere reminder. I recently got tested for Sleep Apnea, and it was determined that I do, in fact, have Sleep Apnea and will be getting a CPAP machine in the not-too-distant future. Again, I’m probably going to go more-in-depth with this once I actually get the CPAP machine. However, suffice it to say that over the past few years I have had some problems sleeping, and family members have reported that I snore – along with my observing some of my own snoring while napping.
This, combined with paying attention to my sleep data on my FitBit and with it how rested I am or am not lead me to come to the conclusion that I should take on a sleep study and get tested. I’m glad I did that – pro wrestlers from promotions like ECW have died from Sleep Apnea (Johnny Grunge), and Ryan Davis (who had the pleasure to meet at San Diego Comic Con the one year I went) had to deal with it it as well – and my Mom also experiences it – so I felt it was worth getting tested. So, this is my prompt to you, my readers and viewers, if you have problems sleeping, if you have issues with snoring or other respiratory issues, if any sleep-tracker you use shows that say, you’re losing over an hour of sleep a night, consider getting tested for Sleep Apnia – it could improve your sleep and save your life.
Quick Site News Note: Upcoming Medical Procedure
As a quick Site news note – I will be undergoing surgery for that lump on the side of my face that you probably have noticed getting gradually larger over the past few months in the middle of March (specifically on the 14th and 15th). Naturally, this will cause some disruption to my stream schedule and workflow. I will try to get enough of a buffer together that this shouldn’t cause too much of a problem, but I will likely not be streaming that weekend.
I’m probably going to do something of a video about this after the procedure to talk about the experience, at least a little. However, if there’s a disruption in my schedule around that time – that’s why.
Slight Break in the Halo Let’s Play
So, the Let’s Play is going to take a very short break due to some technical difficulties. My tale of woe lies below the cut.

My Video Game & Anime New Year’s Resolutions for 2024
With a new year come some New Year’s Resolutions – and like many fans of video games and anime, I have a massive pile of shame, when it comes to series that I’m trying to get through each year. So, I’d like to try to make a dent in that, and hopefully, a public resolution will help. So, these are my New Year’s Resolutions for 2024.
Continue readingI’ve switched back to using Davinci Resolve for my video editing, so my credit rolls will look a little different. That said, encodes are obscenely fast – which should allow for my Let’s Play videos to encode faster.
Minor Behind the Scenes Note
I took a bunch of photos at Kumoricon 2023 of hall cosplay, the Gunpla competition, and the cosplay contest. I will see about embedding those below the cut.

Attending Kumoricon next weekend!
Quick reminder – I will be attending Kumoricon 2023 next weekend. I’m not paneling this year, but I hope I’ll see you there.
I finally catch up with the “kidnapper”, just in time for him to reveal the truth as the Dark Presence shows up.
Wake continues back to the lodge, and I have technical difficulties that caused my PS5 to restart, leading to my losing the last 15 minutes of the stream, so you don’t get the driving sequence, or Wake fighting off crows, or you learning that the Dark Presence has possessed Rose.

SAG-AFTRA is voting to authorize a strike on video games, and as with the current strike, I support SAG-AFTRA on this, so I talk about how this might impact my Let’s Plays and other content.
Continue readingI went to see Band-Maid at the Crystal Ballroom last night, so I wasn’t quite able to finish the posts I had planned for this weekend in time for Saturday, so here’s the video for their latest single.
I give a few quick notes about whether the SAG-AFTRA Podcast guidelines (as of 7/29/2023) will impact the Anime Explorations Podcast, and talk about why actors and writers matter, and why we need to keep talking about performances and writing (brought on by a podcast I listen to saying that talking about that is scabbing).

This is me doing an evergreen reminder that, in the US, if you are legally able to vote, to please register to vote, and vote when elections come around – and vote in every race on the ballot. It matters.
